Part 1
KerryAnn: Hello Everyone and Welcome to Part 1 of the bible study of Day 5 of the Story of Creation. I am your host Kerry-Ann Greenland and with me, I have my husband Kerrol Greenland. Although this is intended to be a bible study, not all the bible texts referenced will be read, or highlighted on screen. At these points we encourage you to pause the video and read these verses, so you can have a good understanding of the discussion, as we move along.
If this is your first time here, it is strongly recommended that you first watch part one about creation day 1 before you proceed with this video.
Some of the definitions, terms, and arguments mentioned in this video may seem confusing unless you are equipped with the foundational information mentioned in the first set of videos. So once again to prevent any possible confusion, it is strongly advised to watch the previous videos before watching this one.
Before we open the word, let us first pray.
Slide 1
Kerry-Ann: So far we have gleaned some really neat insights by looking at the week of creation as a prophecy. No doubt we will continue to do this as we now look at day 5 of creation.
Kerrol: Before we can do this, it is customary that we first try to understand what physically happened before we can make insights.
So Let's read our text of study Gen 1:20-23 and then we will be able to make a summary.
Kerry-Ann: Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
SLIDE:8-9
Kerrol: So, what literally happened on day 5 of Creation?
Kerry-Ann: On day 5 God brought forth animals from the sea.
Kerrol: Would you agree with me that some of those animals, that God brought from the sea would roam the land as well? To make my point consider such animals as the seal, the ostrich, the penguin, frogs, crocodiles just to name a few.
Kerry-Ann: I can see that.
Kerrol: Was there anything else that was done on day 5?
Kerry-Ann: Well, He told the animals to be fruitful and multiply.
Kerrol: O.k. so lets get into our applications. Gen 1:20-23 tells us that some animals were created on day 5; but then we find a most strange occurrence on day 6. More animals were created! Although not a part of our text of study, let us read it. Gen1:24-25
SLIDE:10 text-land animals
Kerry-Ann: Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
Kerrol: If you look at the sequence of the things in creation prior to this day, everything that was created, was complete on the day when it was created. But here we find a most peculiar event. A partial creation of animals on day 5, followed by another partial creation of animals on day 6.
If you have an inquiring mind this will raise some questions.
SLIDE:11 Questions
Kerry-Ann: It dies raise some questions. Is there a reason why some of the animals were created on day 5 and another set created on day 6? Do you have an explanation as to why the sea creatures were created before the land creatures?
Kerrol: Yes there is a reason, and I do have an explanation. I also have a reason why it is the sea creatures that are told to be fruitful and multiply- i.e. practice and prosper and not the land animals.
Kerry-Ann: Well do tell
Kerrol: In order for us to get a complete understanding of the explanation, there are some other things that I must look at first.
Kerry-Ann: What is that?
Kerrol: There must be an understanding of the animal the serpent, and you should also possess a working knowledge of the prophecy of Revelation chapter 13. I plan to cover the first in this video then Rev 13 in the next video.
Kerry-Ann: o.k. Let's get to it then
Kerrol: Typically when we speak of a serpent, we often reference a snake, and we are not wrong for doing this, however a more accurate depiction would be of an animal with legs and wings.
SLIDE:12 the serpent
Kerry-Ann: Where do you get this from?
Kerrol: Read Isa14:29
Kerry-Ann:29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
Kerrol: Please note here that it is said that the serpents fly. I get the impression that before the serpent was cursed to go down on its belly it was a majestic creature that walked and flew. Otherwise why would it be compared to cattle or a beast of the field? Gen 3:1, 14. By the way, which day do you think the serpent was created i.e. the 5th or 6th day?
…… As you contemplate your answer, take into consideration that some of the animals that were made on day 5 came from the sea and could fly.
Kerry-Ann: Well in that case. Day 5.
Kerrol: No doubt the serpent would have been made along with the sea creatures that had wings. Can you think of any other significant creature in scripture that had wings.
Kerry-Ann: Angels
Kerrol: That is correct, angels do have wings. However they exist outside of the realm of this Earth. Is there any other creature that you can think of that has wings?
Kerry-Ann: Apart from the obvious birds and insects. No i cannot
Kerrol: The other creature that I was hoping you would come up with was a dragon. We know and accept that the devil used the serpent as a medium to deceive Eve in the garden. In the book of Revelation the serpent and the devil are likened unto a dragon.
Kerry-Ann: Where in scripture do we find that?
Kerrol: Rev 20:2 and Rev12:9
Kerry-Ann: 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Kerrol: In these verses the bible calls the serpent/devil a dragon; and doesn’t a dragon have wings?
Kerry-Ann: I guess so.
Kerrol: Take it from me if the serpent had wings, the dragon also has wings.
Kerry-Ann: Why is this significant?
Kerrol: It is significant for two reasons. One it sets the stage for the prophecy in Revelation and makes more clear the description of the creature referenced in the book of Job.
Kerry-Ann: What chapter and verse
Kerrol: It is found in the entire chapter of job 41. In this chapter the beast referenced by the specific name Leviathan, We read this in Job 41:1 (althoug hwe cannot go into the entire chapter here I would recommend reading the entire chapter of job 41)
Kerry-Ann: What kind of creature is this and what is the co-relation to the serpent and the dragon?
Kerrol: The truth is that this dragon (Leviathan called by name here) is symbolic of the Lucifer/Satan, and in job the story of his defeat is being typified.
Kerry-Ann: I have to ask, Is there a scripture for this.
Kerrol: Yes read Isaiah 27:1
Kerry-Ann: In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that [is] in the sea.
Kerrol: When we understand the references here we can see that in this sense the book of job also has prophetic significanc, hence the trials and temptations job faces represent the trials and temptations to be had by the people of God just before the devil is to be destroyed at the end of time as presented in Rev 13.
Although all of Job chapter 41 is devoted to Leviathan and this prophetic application, some of the symbolism is not so clear, but there is one verse that I think is abundantly clear, and it is verse 6 let us read it.
SLIDE:17
Kerry-Ann 41:6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
Kerrol: AS a side note. Job is one of if not the oldest books in the bible. Consequently what you are reading here is a prophecy, but because this book comes after the book of Exodus chapter 16 specifically. We think it is referencing back to an event rather than pointing forward to one.
Kerry-Ann: What are you talking about?
Kerrol: Do you remember the story in Exodus 16, where the people ate quails night and day. The scripture is letting us now that the quails was Leviathan that was broken up to feed these people.
Kerry-Ann: That sounds made up. Do you have proof of this?
Kerrol: Ofcourse I do, Turn to Psalms 74:13
Kerry-Ann: 74:13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.
74:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, [and] gavest him [to be] meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
SLIDE:18
Kerrol: This is just another way of representing the same story that is found in Gensis 3:15. Remember that text told us that the head of the serpent would be crushed. In our text in psalm it is telling us that the heads of Leviathan was broken into pieces and fed to the people in the wilderness.
I hope at this point it is abundantly clear that the dragon or the serpent was made on day 5.
SLIDE:13-16 dragon
Kerry-Ann: I think it is, but I still don’t see the link between your answer and the questions I asked.
Kerrol: I know I may be progressing slow, but it is needful to lay this foundation. I have not forgotten your questions but be patient with me as I work my way up to your answers.
Kerry-Ann: O.k. So you have established that the serpent or the dragon was made on day 5. Whats next?
Kerrol: The next part is to review the prophecy in Rev13.
Kerry-Ann: O.K. So what is Rev13 speaking about?
Kerrol: This is going to take a lot of explaining so let’s start that in the next video.
Kerry-Ann: O.K. We have come to the end of part 1 of Day 5. We invite
you to jot down your comments and questions below.

Part 2
KerryAnn: Hello Everyone and Welcome to Part 2 of the bible study of Day 5 of the Story of Creation. I am your host Kerry-Ann Greenland and with me, I have my husband Kerrol Greenland. At these points we encourage you to pause the video and read these verses, so you can have a good understanding of the discussion, as we move along.

Kerrol: o.k. So last time we left off with the question what is revelation 13 talking about. I will not here go into all the details of this study but I will give a synopsis so that we can have the answer to the questions you asked at the beginning of the previous video. If after I have done this you are still not clear or want a deeper explanation still about Rev 13, I implore you to obtain a little book called “Daniel and Revelation” by the author Uriah Smith. This book goes into great detail about that prophecy verse by verse.
Kerry-Ann: Let's hear your synopsis of Revelation 13.
Kerrol: Please note where John in verse 1 sees the first beast arising from.
Kerry-Ann: Rev 13:1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Kerrol: As we have covered before water means lots of beings, or as in this case many people. So this sea beast arises out of the water. This should let you think of our previous study about Leviathan.
Kerry-Ann: What does this beast represent?
Kerrol: this first beast is symbolic of political world powers that will arise over a certain period of time.
Kerry-Ann: What are this beast’s characteristics?
Kerrol: Putting aside that this beast is representative of the image mentioned in Daniel 2 and all the beasts mentioned in Daniel 7. This beast has several heads and horns. (Leviathan)
Kerry-Ann: What does it mean that I saw one of its head’s wounded to death? Vs 3
Kerrol: It means that the reign of this beast will be interrupted. In the context of our study were are going to refer to this beast as the papal power. Note that in verse 5 reign is given unto it for 42 months.
This was the juncture at which the reign was interrupted.
Kerry-Ann: I’m not sure I follow you.
Kerrol: O.k. Let me spell it out. In 538 A.D. the papal power became a political player, and it reigned for 1260 days. Which is referenced here as the, 42 months. In Dan 7:25 it is reckoned as 3 ½ years. Add 1260 years to 538A.D. we wind up with 1798A.D. which is the exact year the pope was imprisoned. Please note the time frame of 1260 years, this is especially important to our study of the 5th day of creation.
Kerry-Ann: In verse 11 we are told that another beast rises up out of the earth. What does the
lamb-like beast represent?
Slide:lamb-like beast
Kerrol: After the time period of the wounding of the first beast, a second beast arises. From the land. This should bring to your mind the 6th day of creation.
Kerry-Ann: Why is that?
Kerrol: O.k. Let my tie all the loose ends together. Let begin by re-reading our scripture text in Gen 1:20-23
SLIDE:4-6 creation of sea animals/birds
SLIDE:7 Many apps one interpretation
Kerrol: Please remember that what I am sharing with you does not change what physically happened on day 5 of creation.
Kerry-Ann: o.k.
Kerrol: As we have established in our study of day 4 that a day equals a thousand years. Consequently looking at day 5, now doubt we are looking at 5000 years since the creation of the Earth.
In the 5th day of creation God brought forth the sea creature and told it to be fruitful and multiply. This is a direct parallel to the sea creature of Rev13 coming forth and practicing and prospering for 1260 years (42 months).
It therefore means that the beast would be made to prosper for more than a day, i.e. for more than 1000 years. In other words 4000 + 1260 = 5260. Which means that day 5 was ended and day 6 had already begun.Consequently it would have 260 years of existence in the 6000th year which is the time that the land beast was to rule.
SLIDE:21
It is interesting that this is exactly what is typified on the 5th and 6th day of creation. So the fact that God created the land animals as part of the creation of day 6 is just pointing forward to what would happen when the sea creature more specifically the dragon reigned.
Kerry-Ann: Wow
Kerrol: It therefore means that the second beast we looked at in rev 13 would come into existence some time during the 6000th year existence of the earth from sin.
Kerry-Ann: So let me get this straight. Although the land was in existence prior, still sea creatures were called into existence before land animals were; and the reason for this was that it was a foreshadow of prophetic animals mentioned in revelation 13.
Kerrol: We already know that Christ came on the scene 4000 years after sin. And we know this from our last study of day 4 and the introduction of the lights especially the moon and the sun.
So it follows that if we are looking at a day equaling a thousand years then this means that in the 5000th year from creation we would see the introduction of a sea creature.
Which we did. This period is called the dark ages, and to the day, the prophecy was fulfilled.
Kerry-Ann: This is so marvelous I need some time to process.
Kerrol: I think this is all we have time for now, so let’s pick up on day 6 in our next video.
Kerry-Ann: O.K. We have come to the end of part 2 of Day 5. We invite
you to jot down your comments and questions below.
