Questions and Answers

Here are some questions and answers I have encountered and thought I would jot down the answers here. You can help me putting your questions below and I will do my best to anser it using bible references for all answers.

1 .Question: Where did Cain get his wife? Answer: It was his sister. First born gets married to first born. Because humanity's genetic pool was pure at the beginning, intermarriage among close relatives was common and not prohibited until much later in biblical history. Relevant Scripture: Genesis 5:4,Genesis 4:16-17  Genesis 20:12 ,Genesis 29:26,Leviticus 18:6

2. Question: why did god put the tree in the Garden if he knew Adam would eat from it. Answer:God placed the tree in the Garden to give Adam and Eve a genuine opportunity to obey Him, because love and obedience have meaning only when there is a real choice. God commanded them, "Of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it", making the tree a test of trust and obedience for His created beings; although God knew the outcome, He did not force their decision. Relevant Scripture:(Genesis 2:16-17)

3: Question: Why did the serpent talk to Even and not to the Man Answer:The woman is easier to approach, the weaker softer vessel. The serpent addressed Eve first because Adam received God's command directly, making Eve's secondary knowledge easier to exploit when she added the detail about not touching the fruit. By persuading Eve, the serpent created an internal leverage point that led Adam to passively follow her influence without direct temptation. This approach inverted the created order of God, man, woman, and creation, underscoring the spiritual disruption central to the Fall. Relevant Scripture: Math 13:25

4. Question: Does the bible say explicitly that women are the weaker vessel? Answer: The bible describes women as the "weaker vessel," an instruction meant to call husbands to honor and protect their wives rather than assert dominance. This physical distinction highlights a softer, subtler side of humanity that balances raw physical strength with empathy, warmth, and grace. Rather than implying inferiority, this emotional receptivity makes women naturally more approachable, while the text explicitly affirms both men and women as equal heirs in spiritual worth. Relevant Scripture: 1 Peter 3:7

5. Question: Why didn't God just ignore the sin of Adam? Answer: We would have been left without hope. God could not simply ignore Adam's sin because God's justice requires that sin be dealt with. Scripture says, "the wages of sin is death"  and "to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are" by obeying the serpent rather than God, Adam placed himself under sin's authority and incurred its consequence. Relevant Scripture: Romans 6:23, Romans 6:16

6. Question: Where was Adam was Eve was being tempted? Answer: he was not beside her. The devil waited until Eve was close enough to the tree and away form her husband to make his move. Relevant Scripture: Genesis 3:6

7. Question: Why did God allow evil in the first place? Answer: God allowed the existence of evil primarily to give humans genuine free will , as true love and obedience must be freely chosen rather than forced . Allowing evil also creates a way to reveal God's greater attributes—such as His mercy, redemption, and supreme justice—by turning what was intended for evil into ultimate good . Crucially, God's allowance of evil is temporary; He promises to eliminate sin, suffering, and death permanently in the end. Relevant Scripture: Genesis 2:16–17; Genesis 50:20 , Romans 8:28; Revelation 21:4

8. Question: If Saturday is truly the Sabbath why do we worship on Sunday? Answer: The Bible identifies the seventh day, Saturday, as the Sabbath. Some Christians argue that does not establish a new day of worship because, using the biblical reckoning of days from sunset to sunset, the meeting on "the first day of the week" would have begun on what we call Saturday night. Constantine later played a significant role in elevating Sunday's status by issuing a civil decree in A.D. 321 making the "venerable Day of the Sun" a day of rest throughout the Roman Empire, helping to strengthen Sunday observance in Christian society. Relevant Scripture:  Geneis 2:2, Exodus 20:10; Acts 20:7

9. Question: How do we know the serpent was beautiful before it was cursed? Answer: The Bible never says the serpent was beautiful before the curse. That idea comes from the inference that the curse, "upon thy belly shalt thou go", suggests the serpent may originally have had a different and perhaps more exalted form. Some commentators also connect the serpent with Satan's former glory described in passages such as, but this remains interpretation rather than an explicit biblical statement. Relevant Scripture: Genesis 3:14, Ezekiel 28:13-15
